«Vamp i full symfoni 2» coming October 2010!

Cortina on "Deadliest Catch"

A record-breaking number of viewers saw the season opening of "Deadliest Catch". The Haugesund band Cortinas had the honor of closing the Discovery Channel show about the fishermen with roots in Karmøy in Norway.

"Deadliest Catch" is the most popular show on Discovery Channel and the sixth season opened on April 16. The Norwegian local radio station Radio 102, reports that the Cortinas song "Lift Me Up" from the album "Been A Long Time" finished the first episode. The reason is said to be that the producers of the show love the band, and is considering to use more songs from Cortinas.

Vamp finish tour and plan 2 new albums

A new, possibly historic, Vamp-year is ahead of us.

As the longest tour of Vamp's career is over, new plans are already in progress for 2010.

During the spring, Vamp will be recording "I full symfoni 2" with the Norwegian Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra, and a new CD and DVD will be releases in the autumn. The relase is to be followed up by a new tour with the orchestra.

The recordings of "I full symfoni 2" will be conducted during two concerts at Rockefeller in Oslo, 29. and 30. April. NRK will produce a TV-show that is likely to be aired in the autumn of 2010.

For this project Vamp has hooked up with Eivør Pálsdóttir, an up-and-coming female artist from the Faroe Islands, which we will surely hear much about in the years to come. She will be given an important and extensive role on "I full symfoni 2".

"I full symfoni 1" was a huge success and is one of Norway's best-selling albums ever, and we have high hopes that the sequel will be at least as good as the first.

Then, in 2012, Vamp mark its 20th anniversary with yet another release and nationwide tour. In the meantime, we look forward to the recording, release and tour with the fantastic Norwegian Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra.

Stay tuned!
